Eligibility Criteria for NEET – UG Undergraduate

Here are the eligibility criteria for students applying for NEET UG 2023:

1. Age Limit :-

There is no maximum age limit for NEET UG 2023. However, candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2023, to be eligible for the exam

2.Academic Qualification for NEET-UG :- 

Applicants must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board. Those currently in their 10+2 exams can also apply for NEET UG 2023.

3.Compulsory Subjects for All Medical Courses Undergraduate Program

This examination is meant for admission into medical courses and hence, Biology/Biotechnology is one of the compulsory subjects along with Physics, Chemistry, and English that students should have studied in classes 11th and 12th standard.

4. Qualifying Examination Scores for All Categories
  • General Category: Minimum 50% aggregate in their 10+2 examination under the Physics/Chemistry/Biology stream.
  • For OBC, SC, and ST Category: Minimum 40% aggregate.
  • For PWD Category: Minimum 45% aggregate.
5. Maximum Number of Attempts

There is no limit on the number of times candidates can attempt the NEET-UG exam. They can take the exam as many times as they want as long as they meet the other eligibility criteria.

6. All India Quota seats

Overseas Indian Citizens (also referred to as OCI), Foreign aspirants, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are entitled to reservation of seats in various medical colleges under the 15% of All India Quota seats. The candidates who are residents of J&K are, however, not eligible for these 15% seats reserved under the All India Quota.

Eligibility Criteria for NRI Students

The applicants applying for the NEET-UG examination who have completed their education from outside the country are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria for NEET in order to be able to appear for the NEET UG entrance exam.
The eligibility criterion specifies that the last examination to be passed by the NRI/Foreign students should be equivalent to a Class 12th qualification in their respective country. All the foreign/NRI candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their major subjects. Moreover, they must have passed the theory as well as the practical test in each of the three subjects as well as English as the qualifying examination.

How to Apply for NEET-UG 2023?

Here are the steps you need to follow to register and apply for NEET UG 2023.

  1. Visit the official NEET-UG 2023 website.
  2. Click on ‘New Registration’ and fill in your personal details like Date of Birth, Category, and Mobile Number.
  3. After registration, you’ll get login credentials (Application Number & Password).
  4. Log in again using these credentials and select three exam centers based on your preference.
  5. Fill in all required details accurately and check for any mistakes.
  6. Upload necessary documents like photographs, signatures, left thumb impression, and 10th-grade mark sheet.
  7. Pay the Application Fee online and submit the form.
  8. Double-check all information, then print and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Every candidate applying for NEET-UG must pay an application fee to complete the submission process. Here are the fees for different categories.

  • General (UR) Category – 1600/- INR
  • OBC & EWS – 1500/- INR
  • PH, ST, and SC – 900/- INR

The application fee can be paid online using a debit or credit card, Net Banking, or Paytm/ UPI/ Google Pay.
