Eligibility to Apply for JEE Advanced 2024

1 – JEE Main 2024 Performance

2 – Age
Candidates applying for JEE Advanced 2024 must have a birth date on or after 1st October 1999. However, candidates belonging to PwD, ST, and SC categories are granted a five-year relaxation. Therefore, these candidates must be born on or after 1st October 1994.
3 – Attempt to write the exam
Candidates are allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced exam for a maximum of two consecutive years, totaling two attempts.
4 – Class 12th exam appearance
Candidates must take the class 12th or equivalent exam for the first time in either 2023 or 2024. They must have studied subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Candidates who attempted the class 12 or equivalent exam in 2022 or earlier are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2024, except in cases of one-time special measures provided.
5 – Previous admission at IIT
Candidates who had their admission canceled at any IIT (irrespective of the cause) after enrollment are disqualified from attempting JEE Advanced 2024. However, candidates who enrolled in a preparatory course at any IIT for the first time in 2023 are eligible to take the JEE Advanced 2024 exam.
